Learning From the Best
Becoming a fully trained and complete conductor is a lifelong process. Developing conducting technique and rehearsal strategies is of course important, but your leadership qualities, communication skills and artistic convictions also play a big part in how musicians and employers perceive you both on and off the stage. If you are interested in developing your personal skills as well as your technical skills, this section is for you!
Learning From the Best is organised in three parts:
- Soft Skills and Artistry – with study material on leadership, improving ourselves on the podium, the art of programming, developing trust through music and much more.
- Being a Cultural Advocate – about how conductors become advocates through their actions and words, either formally, through written publications and lobbying, or informally, such as through programming or teaching. Diversity and perspectives on gender in the music industry are also covered here.
