Wilbur Lin
Recently appointed assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony at the time of this interview, Wilbur Lin started his first season as the assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras, in addition to continuing his work as the artistic director of the summer seasons of the Chamber Philharmonic Taipei. Briefly holding an assistant conductor position with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and Fusao Kajima, during his studies Wilbur also assisted Andrew Manze with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.
Wilbur talks about his initial education in Taiwan, setting up his own orchestra in Taipei, differences between US and British-European systems, auditions processes for assistant conductor positions and finding a job, and much more.
